Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is one component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) where ultra fine needles are inserted into acupoints that lay along 14 meridians and channels in the body. There are 365 acupoints or, centers of energy, that exist along these 14 meridians. The acupoints and meridians have been mapped out over 2000 years ago and through prolonged practice, skillfull insertion and proper manipulation of specific points they can restore and maintain health. Traditional Chinese Medicine also includes herbology, cupping, moxibustion, electrical stimulation and tui’na massage.

Disease and disharmony take up residence in the body when any combination of physical, environmental, psychological, and emotional stressors disturb the normal function or organ systems. The healing process depends on the severity of these stressors. Acupuncture has been proven effective by the World Health Organization to treat the following: Stress, Depression, Anxiety, Insomnia, Headaches, Migraines, Facial Paralysis, MVA.Injuries, Sport Injuries, Muscle Pain, Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Inflammation, Trigeminal Neuralgia, Allergies, Acne, Asthma, IBS, Hormonal Problems, fertility issues and much much more! Chinese Medicine is devoted to promoting wellness and longevity. Supporting the body's ability to adapt to the various health challenges will have broad benefits for the immune system, the nervous system, and the endocrine system. Keeping the body strong and resilient so it can resist illness and disease is the most fundamental principle of holistic health in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
